      I haven't been in touch with my anime-related hobbies lately (Fanime 2011 was pretty much the most involvement I've had this year).  As such~I haven't been in tune with the latest and most popular anime/manga titles that have hit the market.
     Sorry folks, I'm not talkin' about BLEACH or Naruto.  In fact...anything that pretty much airs on CARTOON NETWORK is invalid for discussion.  What I wanna talk about--are titles that will most likely not make it overseas, in  terms of popularity.  Sure, you'll probably see it sitting elegantly on the BEST BUY shelf--perhaps fated to collect dust and sent back to the warehouse.
...not that there is anything wrong with anime that airs on Cartoon Network, however, let's explore awesome titles that may pass you by.

     There you have it...a list I borrowed from the denizens of SankakuCom.  How it was comprised, well...you can check their sources.  As you can see, it is quite the list of current anime of 2011.  The list is so great that I haven't been able to devote enough time to watch all of them.
  I've only watched two from the list, and I'll give a quick review below~!

[Abbrev.] Ano Hana
[Genre] Slice-of-Life, Drama
[Duration] 11 episodes
{Synopsis}
     Summer brings more than hot weather for Yadomi Jinta.  Apparently, he is tormented by the memories of his past.  Shrugging off his "trauma" as a mere hallucination, he continues his NEET lifestyle.  Yadomi doesn't realize that his hallucinations are more than what they seem.  Reunited with a childhood friend, he is propelled to fulfill her wish; a mysterious request unknown even to her.
     A touching story about the broken friendships that form as we grown up.

[Thoughts of the Series]
     This title has received lots of praise, as well as criticism for it's #1 spot on the charts.  The basic foundation of the story is nothing new.  However, the application of a specific story element (avoiding spoilers) helps develop this title as unique.  The series portrays brilliant character development, it's amazingly done within the span of only 11 episodes.
     If you enjoy this genre of anime, then I'd definitely recommend watching this.  It's a great escape from the moe-saturated industry. I'd give it a solid 9.5/10.
